Kas was originally called Habesos or Habesa in the ancient language of Lycia, and later was given the name of Antiphellos. Phellos was the name of the city across Kas and was a Greek word meaning "stony place", and this name is very well suited to the area. So, because Kas was built just across Phellos, the citizens called their town as Antiphellos (across Phellos).

Gokseki Village is situated in an elevated postion over looking the Kas Peninsula, islands, Mediterranean Sea and Kas. The charming and friendly resort of Kas is just a 1/2hr drive from Kalkan, along one of the most dramatic and beautiful coastal roads in the Mediterranean. Cradled by the Taurus Mountains, with over 300 days of sunshine, very low humidity, and warm crystal clear unpolluted sea, modern day Kas, with its cobbled streets, is built on the ancient site of Antiphellos.
